The shooting world is a small
one, and it's always amazed me how accessible and generous the heroes of our
sport can be to aspiring shooters. It's so amazing that the best shooters
in the world have forums available where you just type your question, and
overnight you get priceless free advice. Most of these shooters have stores
on their websites and I urge you to buy your shooting products from them whenever
possible to support and reward their generosity and willingness to help. Here's
a list of my favorites:
Brianenos.com - Brian
hosts THE competition shooting forum, and this forum has no equal. You'll
be blown
away by the amount of free info available here, and
you'll be surprised by how many big names you'll find discussing the topic
of shooting. Brian also has a store where you can get his incredible book,
"Practical Shooting: Beyond Fundamentals", Dillon Products, Pact
timers, and other shooting supplies.
Mattburkett.com - Matt
is best known as a Top GM and the producer of the best shooting videos available.
His site offers easy access to his videos and DVDs, plus a forum where you
can get advice directly from Matt.
Maxmichel.com - Max's
Choice is the home of Max Michel Jr of the Army Marksmanship Unit. I have
had the great honor to get know Max a little bit over this past year and the
insight he has given me into shooting has really helped me better understand
what my goals should be when I pick up a gun. Max and his AMU teammate, Travis
Tomasie, are available for questions through Max's forum. Travis has also
given me more help than I can ever repay, and was the first of my heroes to
really answer my questions about the upper levels of shooting. Thanks guys,
for your help and for your service in the Army.
Robleatham.com - Rob
Leatham is the most successful shooter in the history of practical shooting.
The fact that he is known as "The Great One" tells you everything
you need to know.
Doublealpha.biz- Saul
Kirsch is a top European shooter and his site has many great tips and video,
along with detailed match reports.
Ericgrauffel.com -
Eric is our current world champion in Open, and he is an amazing talent. There
is video from his 2003 season that is a resource that every serious shooter
needs to own. Eric also has forums in French and English.
LangdonTactical.com
- If you shoot a Beretta or Sig, you need an Ernest Langdon trigger job. I
got my start in the production division shooting Berettas, and Ernie's triggers
are crucial to a good performance with these guns.
Ericwesselman.com
- Eric is my first sponsor, and his True Grit grip tape is a product I wanted
before I ever knew it existed. I used to cobble together pieces of Grip tape
to make my Caspian (no grips, thank you) sticky enough for a good grip. Eric
introduced his True Grit grip tape for STI and SV pistols and it just happens
to fit my Caspian too. It's a great, inexpensive product that I endorse and
highly recommend. He has tape coming for Glocks and standard 1911s very soon.
Thanks Eric and Zuzu!
